nlike gas boilers, which rely on burning fuel, GSHPs make use of renewable energy that’s available all year round. Pipes are buried underground, either in a horizontal trench or vertical boreholes, where they absorb stable ground temperatures to generate heat for your home.

GSHPs are one of the most efficient renewable heating systems available, often delivering more than four units of heat for every unit of electricity used. This means significant reductions in running costs compared to traditional heating.

While installation is a bigger project than an Air Source Heat Pump, the rewards are long-lasting. A typical GSHP system can operate for over 25 years, with ground loop pipes lasting even longer.
